Today at 9.30 am, the Indian Space Research Organisation marked its name in history by setting a new world record after launching 104 satellites into orbit on a single mission. The launch will see PSLV-C37 pushing a mindboggling 104 satellites into orbit. Of the 104 satellites, 101 satellites will be from international clients. Of the 101 international co-passenger nano-satellites, 96 are from the US, and one each from Israel, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates. Child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi’s Nobel Prize replica has been recovered, days after it was stolen from his house, police said on Sunday. Satyarthi’s Nobel citation, replica of the medallion along with other valuables were burgled from the south Delhi residence on February 7 night. “The replica of the Nobel Peace Prize, jewellery, a laptop and some valuables were recovered from the accused who were arrested (on Saturday night),” Deputy Commissioner of Police Romil Baaniya told IANS. Filling up some of the pending vacancies at 10 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), Prime Minister Narendra Modi headed Appointments Cabinet Committee (ACC) on Friday notified appointment of directors for the premier B-schools. As per a notification by the Department of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, appointment to posts of IIM director has been made “on contract basis in the scale of pay of Rs 80,000 (fixed) plus usual allowances for a period of 05 years w.e.f. the date of assumption of charge of the post, or till the incumbent attains the age of 65 years, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest”.
